This system is a unique training tool, providing real time information when using simunitions type man marking rounds. It is a wireless sensor system incorporated into primarily soft body armor, but with an expandable number of sensors up to 14 per person.

The sensors can be placed in face masks, helmets, uniforms, or in any other type material worn. I was able to test the Bioval Technologies TSV system over a month period of time, with approx. 16 users of the system during departmental training. The system preformed well, with time line distinctions down to.oo1 of a second. All the sensors systems information is sent wireless to a lap top computer for recording.

There is also a secondary LED light that lights when the sensor is impacted. Wireless transmission out to 180 meters with the basic version, but can be expanded to any distance depending on budget. Sensors can be weather resistant. Each officer has a small pack on the upper back to hold transmitter, not a hindrance to the officer. Some technical / computer knowledge is needed, with information transfer and down load not very difficult. Vest sizes are as unique as the officers, so some fitting concerns exists. TSV System sensors can also be transferred to a realistic or qualification target used by your agency. This is a metal, reusable target system that records all hits and locations in real time. This part of the system was not tested, but showed the versatility of the system. After using the system in realistic training scenarios, I found it to be very useful, wearable and not a distraction to the officers during the training.

Would recommend this product to anyone who is currently employing simunitions or related training aids to increase the value of the training.
